Just to let everyone know this is a crying thread. lol. Anyway, after many many reports from me and several other players to attempt to report a bot from farming a prestigous title and gold has failed. The max title has been reached for this bot. I truley supported Anet on their new /report command and said to give it some time to the people who hated it. Now i have jumped on the "I hate Anet band wagon". Its just a game, and why should i care who gets what title and how? But when you work hard on any project, even if it is a game, real life ect.. you dont want to see someone cheat their way to your goal. I give Anet an "F" grade for trying to support its players.

And i might get over it and say "HEY! If they can bot titles, i can too"

Also alot of friends and people have checked out this bot and they too confirm its a bot. Confirmed to be on over 48 hours straight, runs in outposts to the exit signs, wont chat back, many other things.

How can you really be sure it's a bot?

I have have been on (afk for long periods) for over 48 hours straight, I can be anti-social and not talk back to people sometimes, and when I'm farming I run straight to the exits in outposts.

Seriously, how can you be sure?

How many reports, and over what course of time? A couple of days? A week? A month? What proof did you offer, and can you share it here as well so we know your argument is valid and support you in your cause?

Unless the character has been moving nonstop for those 48 hours, you really can't make the assumption that it's not controlled by a player. So did you and your friends and those you communicated with checked on the character by the hour during all this time?

Anyway, my primary question is how long did you wait between reporting and making this thread wailing against Anet.

Just because you've reported something, doesn't mean ANet will remove it instantly. They have numerous checks and balances they go through, all with the goal of not removing real people, and even with them, they still get a few false positives. I'm 100% certain though that by you reporting them, they've been moved up the list of might be a bot. Who cares if they get a title, if they get branded as a bot, the account will be nuked so the title will be effectively a moot point if they can't login to show it off.

I would say between 15-20 reports from seperate people(that i know of) and several from myself. And constant nonstop moving from entering in town, to the town sign, to the exit and repeat. I play during the time from of 1a.m - 10 a.m. american time, have several friends and ex guildies working on the same title that play mornings and evenings, had them communicate with me on the situation. I even have waken up and checked. lolz. The reporting has been going on about a day or so after they reinstated the /report command, so its been a while.

I have been calmed on the situation, not really effected by the bot getting the title as much as Anet failing to take care of the situation. This is more of a vent, because i know Anet lurks in these forums and i would like them to hear from a unpleased customer (as they do regularly), but this is not about GW's gameplay, a change i didnt like, or how they messed up the new content, contrary to everything i like GW and have been playing for years, its about an online cheater-exploiter.

Most posts are rants are they not? Anywho i know there are people with bots on this forum, and trolls who live on ruining someones expression. I care about bots cause they ruin the economy, such as loot scaling or farming code. They affect the way many of us play by forcing Anet to make changes to the game. I wouldnt want to see title farming nerfed because money can be made in the process.

Savior of the Kurzicks, Seen the bot, confirmed by Gatto, and yes, I play in Japan, so this paticular Person is on all the time botting or, they obviously have no real life at all!

Somehow you come across as jealous of this said person's title and think by getting lots of people to report them he/she will be punished by ANet.

Obviously either ANet are very busy in processing all the reports and are not yet up to your case, or they've reviewed it and found that the person is not a bot. Either way this thread is pointless.

Considering the sheer amount of reports Anet has to go through (and most of them being crap and a waste of their time is a safe bet to make in my opinion), it can probably take longer than you'd like for something like this to get resolved. Do we know how big of a dedicated "report team" they have, who handles them, etc? I don't think it's something I've had the chance to hear.

Plus reporting someone for botting is a bit more complicated than reporting someone for using bad language - when it comes to the former, they probably do need to check for themselves the behavior of said character, and I've no doubt that bot reports come in all the time.

Yeah true. My steam has calmed. Also i wouldnt want to see a big game change due to bots starting to pour down on the title. There is a decent amount of money to be made and having hundreds of bots farming it would force Anets hand to change the way the title is farmed.

Was not a conclusion, it was a fact. Would you reply to a pm that asked: Are you a bot?

But out of the countless hours I play, this person always does it the same way...run to exit sign, runs out portal, rezones, rinse and repeat...after about 20k faction, I would need a break, this person/bot does it non-stop all day! Have screenshots to prove the bot-like-movement!

You can not confirm they are a bot - I do not care if you have a screen of the whole outpost saying "Bot" and a petition signed by over 10,000 people saying the "know" they are. Without access to what the character is doing outside of town you have *no* idea whatsoever.

Ran to the exit sign and doesn't respond to chat doing the same thing over and over? Sounds exactly like me when I'm farming (and occasionally I have gotten a "detective" whispering me that they reported me to Anet - though this was well before the /report function). I don't like to chat when I play the game, let alone farm and I mostly use the keyboard (thus running to the sign is pretty much the easiest way).

Just because 20 people say "Bot!!!!" and /report them doesn't mean they will get banned. Anet will get around to investigating and they have their server logs. If they are obviously using a third party program they will be banned and, so far, bots aren't sophisticated enough to play like a human does. If they are a human (or even humans) that is just doing something mind numbingly boring and anti-social for a huge amount of hours then nothing will occur and nothing *should* occur. There is no law that someone can't use the sign posts and has to reply to people asking them if they are bots.

Heck, there have been cases in Korea of people dieing because they sit in one place too long playing a game (and that took many many many hours) so it isn't like it never happens either. /Report them and feel good - if they are botting they will get the axe, if not then either shake your head in disgust or be in awe of the amount of effort in such a short time the person is doing for something like a title.

Seeing as you and I were both in Sins at some point, you should know as well as I do that if you are going for Savior of the Kurzicks, you might as well as be a bot.

Look at nborn, kog, other saviors. They put in ~150k a day. nborn had over 20mil faction donated total. If this guy's a bot, nborn's a bot.

Well Nborn got his title the hard way (before double faction) and over the course of several months. I watched this bot progress his title from rank 3 to savior in un nborn time. lolz

What he said, Nborn did it in unreal time even before double faction, this "person has done it in weeks" about 3 or 4 if I remember correctly!

Sounds like you've got a legitimate bot, but you can only do what you can do. It wouldn't surprise me if Anet's /report queue is so long it takes them quite awhile to get around to investigating a given set of reports. They may get him yet. We can hope.
